If your character has a tragic flaw she will have to face up to it by the end of your story. Standing up to a crucial problem is what will transform your main character.
Your main character has to resolve her intolerance, fears and external problems in order to reach her full potential. She has to reach a point of revelation when she understands what her problem is, and that something must be done about it.
Your main character has two conflicts to face, reaching the point of revelation and acting upon that revelation.
