Satan Deceptive Plan! Part 54
The Danger Of Selfishness
Humanitarianism, humanism, the action or beliefs of humanitarians.
In ethics the belief that man's obligations are limited to the welfare of mankind.
The belief that man may be complete without the aid of devine grace.
The belief that rejects the divinity of Jesus Christ.
As any intelligent person can see, this assumption is a failure, mankind is not getting better, only worse.
This religious belief began with the first family in Genesis. We see it in effect when Cain comes before God with his rebellious offering instead of following the instructions that God gave him to do, concerning worship and repentance. He brings his choice of the work of his hand telling God to accept them. When God refuses to accept them, he plans the death of his brother who has obeyed God and who God accepts.
Mankind can never be good enough that God will have to accept us for our goodness alone, without man accepting God's way of worship, repentance and salvation. God is not obligated to receive our works in the place of obedience to his word.
Selfishness In Worship
2 Samuel 6
14David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might,
15while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
16As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.
17They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord.
18After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty. 19Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.
20When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”
21David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord.
22I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”
23And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
Because of self we restrict our worship to the Lord. Sometimes we despise those who really get into worship as David did. We must beware that we may receive a sentence like Michal's if we do not correct this way of behaving.
Prayer For Selfishness
Father, I come to you in Jesus name asking you to send the seven fold spirit of God upon me, to help me understand the selfishness in my life. I bind all self spirits from disturbing the understanding of my actions and motives. Give me wisdom to confront my problems. Grant me the ability to see my actions and motives as you do. Father, please cleanse, forgive and instruct me in your way. I repent of accepting humanism as a religious belief to live by. Father help me to understand the many subtle ways it has controlled my actions and ideals, clouded my view of life and you, and kept me from opening my mind fully to your word. I now take authority over all power of the enemy, and I bind him and his demons from getting in the way now. I ask you father to send angels and warrior spirits to assist me. I ask this prayer in Jesus name amen.

6“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
7Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noon day.
11The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
