House of Deréon is a fashion line created by actress and singer Beyoncé Knowles and her mother stylist Tina Knowles. The concept and style was inspired by three generations of women in their family. The name Deréon paid tribute to Beyoncé maternal grandmother Agnèz Deréon, Tina Knowles mother.
The agu which is often featured on the back pocket of jeans is often confused with the Fleur de lis which is frequently featured on Deréon jeans back pockets.
There are also styles in the line that allude to Agnèz Deréon era, such as retro pencil skirts.
On September 17, 2011 marked the official launch of House of Deréon international collection by Tina Knowles and Beyoncé at Selfridges in London, by way of a fashion show featuring featuring both the Autumn, Winter, and Holiday 2011 collections.
The launch at Selfridges was a global exclusive, due to the fact that the line was only previously available in the USA.
In 2012 House of Deréon was revitalized with new clothing designs that ranged from upscale sophisticated to chic ready to wear clothing. Tina Knowles still remained as head designer, but this time with a new design team.
